We woke up the next day on my actual birthday to find voice and text messages from our school district announcing that Logan's and Ella's school was cancelled due to a power outage. Since my mom was already planning on coming down the next day to take the three younger kids and me out to a picnic lunch at a park, I called her up and requested to change it to my actual birthday so that I didn't have to pull the kids out of school. Luckily, my mom was able to cancel some plans and rearrange her schedule, and made it down to my house a few hours later. Although it was a bit chillier than it would have been the next day, we still enjoyed a sunny, early afternoon at Edgewood Park with grandma. We enjoyed eating her delicious lunch and the kids loved playing on the amazing playground. After we returned back home for Emmett's nap, my mom helped me do some weeding before heading home. After I dropped Ella off at gymnastics later that afternoon, my friend, Wendy, drove up to meet me in Auburn and treated me to dinner at a delicious, Chinese restaurant while Ella was at practice. It was the perfect way to end my special day!
