On August 17th, we invited Heather and Mariah and their kiddos to join us at our favorite, local beach at Dash Point. We spent a wonderful afternoon there playing in the sand and in the water and eating a picnic lunch. Here are Sienna, Mollie, and Lia digging a massive hole in the sand while Ella looks on.
Of course, these girls wanted to do a silly pose, too.
Conner and Logan trying to summon up the courage to get into the water.
The kids enjoyed playing on the park right next to the beach. Here are Ella and Gabs playing in and on top of the slide.

Sweet Ella hanging out in the slide. I just love this picture!
We invited the same two families to join us the next day, August 18th, to head up to Lake Samm. The weather was sunny and warm and everyone had a great time swimming in the water. Here is a picture of Lia, Mollie, Gabs, and Sienna playing on the paddle board.

On Saturday, August 19th, we headed out on a family adventure to Northwest Trek since Ron didn't have to work. We have not been here for three three years since Ella was a baby, so it was fun to go back as a family. Here are the kids posing on the hilarious, giant slug statue.
We decided to go on the one-hour long tram ride after first arriving to try and beat the crowds. Here are some caribou we passed as we headed out on the ride.
Some buffalo relaxing in the shade with an adorable baby in the front.
Ella and papa sitting together.
Logan and Lia smiling from their seat.
A large herd of caribou got in the way of our tram at the end of our ride. They walked right into the road and slowed us down for several minutes. It was quite the sight! Here are Ella and Logan looking on as we tried to drive by them.
After the tram ride and a picnic lunch, we walked around most of the grounds and enjoyed seeing many other animals. Here is a picture of a black bear that we watched for several minutes.

We discovered that an awesome and massive park had been built since our last visit in 2014, so we had to stop and check it out for the last hour or so of our visit. Here are Ella and Lia playing on the huge rope net.
