Although Lia is totally overbooked right now and is not having enough time after school to be a child anymore (we are changing that soon), she begged and begged me to let her sign up for her school's talent show. After dragging my feet for weeks, I finally filled out her application and let her turn it in the day before try-outs. Unlike last year when Lia sang with a few friends, Lia was adamant that she play the piano this year. I was pretty impressed with her determination to do this and her courage to play in front of several hundred people. She chose her favorite song that she has learned since lessons began in September called "The Indian Song" and showed up for try-outs. After two more rehearsals, we arrived at the talent show tonight with my mom (Ron sadly came down with the flu at school and came home at 5 p.m. and went straight to bed). After being blown away by how many kids signed up last year and seeing how long the program was, I requested to Lia's music teacher that she be placed near the beginning of the program as there was no way that Ella and Logan would make it to the end. Luckily, Lia was number four in the line-up and did a fabulous job. She didn't make a single mistake and even took two bows after finishing the song. She looked so darling up on the stage. Good job, Lia! I'm so proud of you!
