We attended Ella's end-of-the-school year piano recital after a rushed morning of a 4-hour gymnastics practice for Ella and a 4-hour play audition for Lia. Ron managed to get Ella and the boys there a few minutes before the recital started and Lia and I came flying in about 15 minutes late and were able to see Ella play her two songs: A Frightful Night and Sneakin' Around. She did a great job and played both songs using unusual and scary tones on her teacher's electronic keyboard. Ella has really enjoyed taking piano lessons these past two years, but we have sadly decided to take a break next year as she juggles competitive gymnastics with company theater which are both major time commitments. Hopefully, Ella will be able return to piano in a few years when her time is not occupied by these activities, but until then, I will still enjoy hearing her tickling the ivories whenever I can!

Two of Ella's closest friends, Elise and Madelyn, both began taking piano lessons from her teacher this fall. Here is a close-up shot of Ella and Elise who have been close friends since Kindergarten.
