For the first time ever, we celebrated the 4th of July at Chris' house instead of going to Lake Samm. Chris' family decided that they wanted to host a BBQ for family and a few friends this year and so we decided to join them. The weather was pleasant all day with highs in the 70s and so we enjoyed eating out on their back deck and setting off fireworks in their backyard while overlooking the Puget Sound. We had a great time talking and laughing while blowing off fireworks and watching schools of minnows swim in chaotic directions in the water right off of their beach every time a loud firework was blown off. We managed to stay until 10 pm and made it home by 11 to the loud, war zone that always greats us every year when we return to our neighborhood. It was a fun way to spend the 4th of July!
Ella really enjoyed setting off fireworks this years in addition to all of of the teenage boys.
