Well the time finally came for baby Emmett to move out of his infant car seat and into his toddler car seat. Since our other children were born before it became the expectation to put babies in the car rear facing until they are two-years old, we had never owned this newer kind of car seat before. Ron and I decided to get rid of the older one of our two toddler car seats (that was actually a hand-me-down from Eric and Rebecca) and replace it with a new one that can face both directions. After Ron had the time to install both car seats in our cars yesterday, we took Emmett for his first ride in one last night when we went out to dinner at Applebee's. Since we rode in Ron's car, Emmett got to have his first taste of facing forward in the older car seat and he LOVED it! He kicked his legs and screamed happily all the way to the restaurants. Although he doesn't love the rear facing car seat as much that is now in my car which he will ride in more often, it sure is fun to see our big boy cruising around town in a whole new way!
Sweet, baby Emmett smiling for me for the last time in his infant car seat.
A close-up of our smiling baby.

And one more close-up of our baby in his new chair.
