6 Months Old Today!

This little peanut turned six months old today!  I can't believe that he is already half a year old.  The time is sure starting to fly!  Baby Emmett is really starting to be so much fun.  His biggest accomplishment is learning how to roll over.  He did it for the first time for me on June 18th and three weeks later is now a pro.  He now can roll from his belly to his back and vice versa and can even do four or five rolls in a roll.  We all get the biggest kick out of watching him do this and love it when we get to see him do a "double" or "triple roll."  He really perfected this during our trip to Florida and now, that we are home, we have realized that he is done with his bouncy chairs, swing, and bassinet.  We even broke out his Bumbo chair and saucer this week which are much better suited for him.  In addition, Emmett is still such a happy, smiley baby when he is fed and rested.  Several people have commented on how he is just the "happiest baby" they have ever met.  Emmett is still sleeping through the night for the most part--going to bed before 10 p.m. and sleeping in most days until 7 a.m. with  the exception of some pacifier plug-ins in the middle of the night.  Emmett did a great job on his first plane flights and trip of his life time this past month.  I had serious anxiety for weeks about how Emmett would handle such a big trip at such a young age, but he really hung in there like a trooper.  He slept for 3.5 hours on the flight to Orlando and 4 hours on the flight back home to Seattle (it helped that it was bed time in Florida for most of the flight home).  Emmett also did a great job during our three long, hot days in Disney World and handled the drives to and from the Gulf Coast like a champ.  It was a serious blessing.  Overall, Emmett is just doing a great job and is getting bigger every day.  He still takes several naps throughout the day, loves his pacifier, and is going to be fed his first solid food tonight.  We just love him to pieces and are so grateful he is a part of our family!

Our long boy laying on his monthly-milestone blanket.  I can't get over how tall he looks in this photo.

Another cute picture of our boy smiling and 'holding his hands' which is one of his favorite past times right now.
