Seeing an Old Friend

While living in Huntington Beach for four years after I graduated from college, I was blessed to make three really good friends (Kerry, Emily, and Tiffany).  I am still in touch with all of three of them today, but haven't seen any of them for years.  Luckily, Emily's family made plans months ago to go on an Alaskan Cruise this summer.  Since her return flight wasn't leaving Seattle for several hours after their cruise docked in Seattle, I was able to pick her and her family up today and bring them back to our home for a few hours for lunch and play time before driving them to the airport later in the afternoon.  We haven't seen each other since July 2012 when Ron and I took Lia and a baby Logan to Disneyland, Laguna Beach, and Catalina Island for our summer vacation.  It was so good to see Emily and her husband and to meet two of her three girls.  The weather was beautiful, so we had a delicious lunch on the deck before the kids played in our pool while the parents go to just sit back, relax, and chat.  Emily is still as funny as she was all those years ago when we were rattling around Orange County together.  It was so fun to get caught up, reminisce, and share some laughs.  She is still one of my favorite people around!  Luckily, her husband's family is planning an Alaskan cruise for the summer of 2021, so hopefully, we will get to do this all over again in two years!
