Recently, Lia has fallen in love with the sequel to The Little Mermaid which describes the adventures of Ariel's daughter, Melody. We read the book almost nightly and check out the movie from the library almost weekly. As a result, Lia has become fascinated with Melody and the fact that she does not have her mother's bright, red hair. This led us to have the following conversation:
Lia: "Mom, why doesn't Melody have red hair?"
Me: "Well, she got her black hair from her papa, Prince Eric."
Lia: "Why?"
Me: "You see, everyone gets some qualities from their mama and some from their papa. For example, you got papa's dark hair and my blue eyes and fair skin. You got my eyes because they are blue and papa's eyes are brown. You got my skin because my skin is peach and papa's skin is brown."
Lia: "Yes, with designs on it."
I don't think that tattoos have ever been described in a cuter, more feminine way! Only a girl who lives in a world full of princesses, fairies, tiaras, sparkles, rainbows, and unicorns could come up with something like this. Oh, that Lia. She just keeps me laughing.
The peach skin gets up close and personal with the brown skin with "designs on it."
