Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Thanks to my mom watching Logan, Lia and I were able to slip away for her second preschool field trip this school year.  We had such a fun time exploring a new pumpkin farm in the area--Maris Farms in the scenic town of Buckley.  Although it rained lightly for part of the field trip, we were able to walk around the farm with her preschool class and participate in some different activities.  I love that Lia is getting old enough to do these kind of things!

Lia and her buddy, Kaylee, who also attends the same preschool.  I thought it was so cute how they both showed up with their matching, princess umbrellas unplanned!

After meeting the group and dividing up into classes, our tour started off with a hayride around the farm.

We then walked down to the corn field to go through the corn maze.

We were then allowed to go into one of the pumpkin patches to choose a small pumpkin to take home.  Lia was so excited about this that she asked Ron to help her carve it that same night!

On the way to the next activity, Lia was able to play a quick game of tetherball with her teacher, Miss Vera, and another student.  Notice that the tetherball is a pumpkin.

Next stop was the "cow train" where Lia was able to take Lullu Bell around for a ride (that was pulled by a tractor).

The children were then taken to the "corn house" which is a barn built around a giant pit full of corn kernels.  It's like a giant sand box, but filled with corn.  Needless to say, Lia was one dusty mess when she finished with this place!

We wrapped up our morning by visiting the animals.  Here is Lia petting some lambs.

And feeding some goats using a pulley system where she hoisted some alfalfa in a cup up to a waiting goat above!

Thank you, Maris Farms, for a wonderful morning!
