Summer Comings and Goings

Our summer vacation started off with some cooler weather this year which really was fine as I had Lia enrolled in a 4-day bible camp with her friend, Mollie, during the first full week of summer.  However, the second week of break brought us some beautiful, warm weather...so we have made a point of getting out and enjoying it every single day.  Here is what we have been up to so far...

On Monday, June 30th, we went on a walk/bike ride along the Puyallup River with my friend, Mariah, and her two girls, Mollie and Gabriella.  Lia and Mollie did a great job biking for almost an hour in some seriously hot sun.  Here they are on the bridge before we turned around and headed back to our cars.  We then went to a park in Sumner for lunch and some playtime afterwards.

A picture of these two, cute girls as they pedaled back to the parking lot.

On Tuesday, July 1st, the temperatures reached into the 90s, so we headed out to the closest splash pad in Auburn with my friend, Cassie, and her three children.  Lia had a great time running around with her friend, McKenzie.

Logan enjoyed the splash pad for the first part of the morning, but really didn't want anything to do with it after we ate our lunch.  I'm not sure why, but he just hung out with baby Ella and me in the shade afterwards.

This splash pad is in a really cool park with some unusual playground toys.  Here are Lia and McKenzie climbing on a rope ladder after taking a break from the water.

Today, July 2nd, Ron agreed to take a break from painting the entire exterior of the house by HIMSELF in this horrid head to accompany us to our favorite, little water park in Tacoma for the afternoon.  It was so great to have him join us.  I just love this water park and it was so fun to reintroduce it to Logan although we have gone every summer since he was born.  He had such a fun time in the toddler pool.  Here is Lia and Logan running through the "water tunnel."

Of course, Lia had to pretend that she was a mermaid.

Cooling off with my kids.

Sweet baby Ella slept through two of the two and a half hours that we were there which made it a very fun and relaxing outing for both parents.  Here she is asleep in the same swimsuit that Lia wore six years ago.

After Ella woke up, I took her to the toddler pool for a little dip.  She could barely open her eyes due to the bright sun, but didn't seem to mind the water.  Cute girl.
