Sunday Snow

Although snow had been predicted to fall this weekend, it was no longer listed in the forecast yesterday when Lia asked me to check online.  So, I naturally dismissed it as a false forecast made too early by the weatherman and moved on with my life thinking that it wouldn't really happen.  So, it was a total surprise today when we woke up to snow on the ground and snow still falling from the sky.  We got ready for church and headed off for our 9 a.m. meeting not expecting much more to fall.  However, we were even more surprised when our bishop announced at the end of sacrament meeting that the rest of church was cancelled and that we needed to go home before the roads got too dangerous.  Yippee!  I don't know who was more excited...the kids or the parents! :-)
So, we quickly drove home, got dressed in our snow clothes, and headed outside for some fun in the snow.  Little did we know that it would continue to fall for a few more hours resulting in about 3 inches of snow everywhere.  I only took pictures of our morning play time in the snow, but we ended up heading back out in the late afternoon to play in the thicker snow with our next door neighbors, Poppy and Daisy.  There is now more snow predicted in the forecast over the next few days, so it will be fun to see if we get anymore during our midwinter break!

One of the kids favorite activities to play in the snow is to go down the slide on our sleds.  Here goes Ella!

And Lia!

And Logan!

My adorable, snow bunny who is starting to look more like a little girl and not a toddler anymore.  Sniff.

Ron decided to hit a few rounds of golf with the large, blue ball while we were outside.  It was rather funny looking.  Here he is swinging his golf club into the air.

The kids at play in their sleds.

Mama and the kiddos.  Oh, how I love playing in the snow with them!
