A Hunting We Will Go!

One of my new best friends is the Rec Center booklet that comes out every quarter detailing various activities, classes, and events that are very affordable in our town.  While perusing through the Spring issue a few months ago, I stumbled across an advertisement for a giant egg hunt hosted the day before Easter in the baseball fields next to the Recreation Center for a whopping $2!!  So, we put it on the calendar and Lia and I have been counting down to the big day for weeks now.  This morning, we quickly cruised down to the egg hunt after Lia's swim lesson and got there moments before it began!  Lia lined up with the other four and five-year old children just in time to hear the directions before the whistle was blown.  Once the hunt began, I was able to help her run around the field picking up various goodies before stumbling across the greatest find of them all--a golden Easter egg!  Apparently there were only a handful on the field and we were lucky enough to find one.  What a fun surprise!  After the hunt was over, we were able to "cash" it in for a large, chocolate bunny that Lia is planning on sharing with her cousins tomorrow.

Lia ready and waiting at the starting line!

Finding the treasured, golden egg!
