Halloween 2018

We wrapped up our Halloween festivities tonight with an early dinner, a quick photo shoot out on the front porch, and then some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  Although the weather looked ominous all day long, the rain held off until we headed outside to go trick-or-treating!  Luckily, we were still home, so we were able to grab our umbrellas before heading up our hill.  We enjoyed an hour going door to door up to the top of our hill and back down again before returning to our house to count candy, answer the door, and watch the beloved, Disney's animated version of The Legends of Sleepy Hollow.  We probably had about 15 to 20 knocks on the door before the crowds disappeared around 8:30 thanks to the rain really picking up.  When we went outside to blow out the candles in our jack-o-lanterns at 8:45 it was totally pouring and the street was empty.  So, I was very grateful that it rained pretty lightly the entire time we were outside going door to door.  All of the kids had a great time trick-or-treating and answering the door.  Both Logan and Ella really got into it this year and would race to the door every time the door bell rang.  I just love spending Halloween evening with our kids and watching them enjoy every minute of this fun and unique holiday!

The kids all dressed up and ready to head out onto our street at 6 p.m.

Lia dressed as Hermione Granger again.  She even pulled out her beautiful and expensive wand that we purchased at Universal Studios last Spring for the pictures (but refused to take it trick-or-treating for fear of breaking or losing it).

Logan the pirate striking a fearsome pose.

Ella decided to wear her Elsa costume for a second Halloween event in a row.  I was able to convince her to wear Lia's awesome wig that we bought a few years ago.  She looked so cute with it on, but did NOT like it when strangers called her 'Elsa' as we were trick-or-treating.  Silly girl.

Mama and the kiddos heading up our hill at the beginning of the evening.

All three kids posing in front of the awesome pumpkin/corn stalk statue that our neighbor puts up every year.

Getting ready to ring another door bell.
