Decorating Gingerbread Houses

We gathered around the table tonight for FHE to decorate our gingerbread houses.  Once again, we divided and conquered--Ron worked with Lia on a smaller house and I worked with Logan and Ella on a larger one.  Since I have learned that these premade kits do not include enough candy, I stockpiled some Halloween candy from this past October and also bought a few more bags at the store last week.  As a result, we had plenty of candy to decorate all the sides of our houses and their surrounding 'yards.'  With the exception of the occasional squabble between Logan and Ella fighting over the same pieces of candy, we had a great time sitting around the table tonight participating in this annual tradition while baby Emmett crawled around us on the floor.  The children will now enjoy admiring their gingerbread houses and snacking on various pieces of candy for weeks to come!
