In the midst of a very busy weekend at the end of the school year, Lia also performed in three productions of "Mean Girls" with NWTL. After a long dress rehearsal on Friday night, Lia had to be at the Auburn Riverside HS theater for 12 hours yesterday and 8 hours today. After Ron and Logan returned home from 6th grade camp yesterday, we left Logan at home to babysit Emmett and took Ella to see Lia's second performance with three of Lia's good elementary school friends. We had a great time watching Lia and the rest of this talented cast put on NWTL's first, full-length production. With an intermission, it lasted 2.5 hours and we didn't get home until after 10 p.m. As a result, I am so grateful that we decided to leave Emmett home as he would have been a hot, tired mess by the end of this show. I also took some of Lia's running friends to see her third and final performance today for the Sunday matinee show. Lia did a great job performing in the ensemble and playing the iconic role of the "Teary Girl" in the scene in the school gym at the end of the play. Although Lia did not get one of the lead roles that she had really wanted, I am proud of her for giving this play her all and making the most out of her ensemble role while juggling track and the one-act plays at her high school this spring. I hope that she can get a few naps in during the first few days of summer before heading off to Africa after this exhausting and busy spring!
